After sixty days head winds and seas I think I may say we have got into the trades. The last three days we have done very well, at noon today four thousand six hund. miles from S.F. If all goes well with us we hope to be there in about a month from this time. The weather is very warm in the day time but tolerable cool in the evenings.

Husband has not been at all well the last two days, I presume it is the change in the weather. I feel the effects of it myself. A few days ago the mariners had their mittens and socks on, today they are without shoes, such a change in only a few days.
