Just four months since we left N.Y. and the first time I have been able to write since the 9th., in fact to do anything in the shape of work, sewing quite out of the question. I have only been able to do a little embroidery and that under difficulties. Hope deferred maketh the heart sick, such has been my case, hoping one day until I got sick and weary enough. Continual seas and continued rolling, many nights not able to get an hour’s sleep the whole night. We are now in the Long. Of 89.00 so we must have good weather soon. This is the finest day we have had for many weeks, and much warmer. I don’t believe we shall either of us want to go another Cape Horn trip if it pleases God we get safe over this one.
