Getting along nicely, all hands painting, tarring and otherwise beautifying the good old ship. We are now right under the sun so we shall have it pretty hot presently. Since we got this fine weather I have done considerable sewing but my thimbles are pretty well worn so shall not be able to do much more. I don’t believe I shall have a chance to work on the machine this side of S.F., too much motion. I have had very little chance to practice. We are now four thousand sixty miles off, so we are creeping along. One hund. and eight days out today.
